Dust and dust mites in a sofa: what does cleaning do?

·

Dust and dirt build up in a sofa with use. Hot-water extraction cleaning helps get them out of the textile, but we don't promise or measure complete removal of dust mites. The service is not allergy treatment or disinfection.

Can you get dust mites out of a sofa?

Cleaning removes dust and dirt from the fabric. We have no measurement results confirming complete removal or destruction of dust mites, so we don't promise that outcome.

How do you do it?

We use the same machine and method as in ordinary sofa cleaning: we spray the fabric with a product that dissolves dirt and extract it, together with the dust, deep out of the fabric with the machine. You can find the full process on the sofa cleaning page.

Does cleaning help with allergies or sneezing?

We don't promise relief from allergies or sneezing. The purpose of cleaning is to remove dirt from the textile; if you have a health concern, follow the advice of a healthcare professional.

How often should you clean a sofa because of dust mites?

In an ordinary home, professional deep cleaning is usually enough about once every 12–24 months. With children, pets or intensive use, cleaning may be needed more often. Also go by the fabric care instructions, visible dirt and odor. See sofa cleaning.

How much does regular cleaning cost?

We don't offer a separate dust mite removal service. You can order ordinary deep cleaning of a sofa or armchair. See the prices on sofa cleaning and armchair cleaning.
