How much does rug cleaning cost?

Rug cleaning starts at €65. This is a general "from" price, not a price per square meter. Send a photo of the rug, its dimensions and a description of the stains so we can review the amount of work and confirm the quote before you order. See also the rug cleaning price list.

How do you clean a rug?

We use two different methods, depending on the rug:

• Shaggy home rug: we clean with an upholstery extractor and stain removal products, using the same method as on a sofa.
• Low-pile and Persian-type rug: we use a rotary floor scrubber, which sprays water on and cleans the surface of the rug.

We inspect the type of rug on site and choose a suitable method for it.

Where is the rug cleaned?

We clean the rug at your home, on site, on the floor. You don't need to hand the rug over anywhere.

How long does a rug take to dry?

The rug dries in 24–48 hours. During this time it's sensible to leave the rug undisturbed so it can dry properly.

Are all rugs suitable for cleaning?

Suitability becomes clear when assessing the material, colorfastness, backing and care instructions. Send a photo of the rug and, if possible, of the care label. For a wool, natural-fiber or delicate rug, a suitable method can't be decided from the rug's name alone. Read about the moisture sensitivity of natural fibers.

Very old stains, stains already treated with household products and stains caused by permanent damage may not come out completely.

What does rug cleaning include?

We assess the rug's material and stains, choose a suitable method and clean the rug on site. For a shaggy home rug we use an upholstery extractor; for low-pile and Persian-type rugs we use a rotary floor scrubber, if the material allows it. Rug cleaning is not taking the rug away to a laundry.

How do you prepare for rug washing?

1. Send a photo, dimensions and information about the cleaning products used so far.
2. Agree with us on the cleaning time and price.
3. Clear the surface to be cleaned and provide water, electricity and light on site.
4. After the work, leave the rug 24–48 hours to dry and ensure air circulation.

Stains and odors on a rug

Is chemical cleaning of a rug a dry method?

Rug cleaning is also searched for under the name of chemical cleaning of a rug. Our on-site service uses wet cleaning suited to the material; the rug stays damp after the work. Don't plan to use the cleaned rug right away, and don't roll it up damp.
