Removing a urine stain and odor from a sofa

·

Urine stains and odor are among the most common inquiries we get. Call us right away, because urine soaks quickly deep into the sofa frame, and the longer it sits there, the more work it takes to get a result.

How hard is it to get rid of urine?

It depends on the source. Cat urine is the hardest, dog urine is milder and a child's urine is the easiest to remove. An old, dried urine stain is harder than a fresh one, but we can usually get rid of it if we repeat the cleaning several times.

What should you do right away if urine got on your sofa?

Gently blot fresh liquid with an absorbent cloth, don't rub or soak the upholstery. Avoid experimenting with cleaning products and ask for advice on suitable treatment. The longer urine sits in the sofa, the deeper it soaks into the frame and the more work is needed later.

How do you remove urine and odor?

We extract the urine from the fabric and neutralize the odor with a special product. If the urine has been in the sofa for a long time, we repeat the cleaning several times, sometimes over several separate visits.

Do you remove urine from inside the sofa too?

We clean and extract as much as possible from the fabric, but if the urine has soaked in very deep, several cleaning rounds may be needed. If the urine has been there for a very long time, the result may not be as good as with a fresh stain.

How much does urine stain removal cost?

We do not offer this as a separate service; it is included in the regular sofa or armchair cleaning price. See the sofa cleaning and armchair cleaning prices.

If the stain is on a mattress or rug, add a photo of that item to your inquiry. See the options for cleaning mattress stains and the on-site rug cleaning service; the material and the depth of the stain affect the result.
