Why does dish soap not clean a sofa?
Trying dish soap (e.g. Fairy) leaves foam and product residue in the fabric that cannot be removed without extraction. It dries in the fabric, turns hard and sets the stain much more firmly than it was at the start.
Why do other household products not work the same way?
The same problem repeats with other household products: you can apply them to the fabric, but without extraction you cannot get the product or the dissolved dirt out of the fabric. On top of that, people usually rub the stain as well, which damages the fabric even more.
Which products must you not use on a sofa at all?
Do not use bleach or vinegar on a sofa.
What should you do if the stain has already been treated with a household product?
Tell us in your inquiry in advance if you have already tried something, so we can prepare better. Stains treated with a household product may no longer come out completely.
How do you remove stains correctly?
We use hot-water extraction cleaning with an upholstery extractor, which sprays a suitable product onto the stain and sucks it out of the fabric right away together with the dirt. You can find the whole process on the sofa cleaning page.
