Is a microfiber sofa easy to clean?
Yes, microfiber is one of the easiest fabrics to care for thanks to its dense weave. It gets fewer stains than natural fabrics, but oily dirt (e.g. grease from hands) still soaks into it easily.
How often should a microfiber sofa be cleaned?
In a typical home, a professional deep clean is usually enough about once every 12–24 months. With children, pets or intensive use, cleaning may be needed more often. Also go by the fabric's care instructions, visible dirt and odor.
How do you clean a microfiber sofa?
We use hot-water extraction cleaning with an upholstery extractor, which suits microfiber well. You can find the whole process on the sofa cleaning page.
Is cleaning microfiber different from cleaning velvet or ordinary fabric?
Microfiber is generally similar to velvet when it comes to cleaning, see microfiber vs velvet. For other fabrics, read fabric.
The same material assessment is also needed when cleaning armchair upholstery. Send a photo of the care label and the furniture so that we can agree on a suitable treatment.
