Can you get a moldy smell out of a sofa?
Mostly yes. We clean sofas that have stood, for example, in a garage or a damp room, and in most cases we can get rid of the odor. We still cannot give a firm guarantee; the result depends on how long and how severely the sofa has been exposed to moisture.
Do you remove the mold itself, not just the smell?
We clean only the surface of the fabric and extract the dirt from it. If mold has penetrated inside the sofa, we cannot reach it and we are unable to remove it.
When can you not help?
If a sofa has sat in a damp room for a long time, for example a year or more, and has gone moldy, nothing may help anymore. The longer moisture damage is left, the smaller the chance of saving the sofa.
What should I do right away if I notice mold or moisture odor on my sofa?
Do not let the sofa sit in a damp state and do not start doing anything yourself, contact us right away. One customer still got their sofa saved, even though tea had been spilled between the cushions a month before they called us, but that is an exception, not the rule, and the result cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Where do mold and moisture odor on a sofa come from?
The most common cause is moisture, for example spilled liquid that is left uncleaned for a long time, or a sofa standing in a damp room.
How do you remove mold odor?
