How we saved a moldy sofa

·

A customer called when their sofa bed had been sitting in damp conditions for about a month and had started to smell bad. We tried cleaning it and in this case managed to get rid of the odor.

What was the situation?

The customer's daughter moved back to Estonia and needed to start using the sofa bed for sleeping. The sofa had been sitting in damp conditions for about a month and had developed a bad odor. The customer was already considering buying a new sofa.

Were you sure at first that you could get the sofa clean?

No. With sofas that have moisture damage, the result cannot be guaranteed in advance. The customer wanted us to try, and we did.

How did it end?

In this case we got rid of the odor. We called the customer back a week later, and the customer confirmed that the result had lasted.

Can every moldy sofa be saved this way?

No, not always. If a sofa has been damp for a very long time, cleaning may not help. Read more about mold and moisture damage.

What can we learn from this story?

If a sofa has suffered moisture damage, ask for advice as soon as possible. The result in each case depends on the damage and cannot be promised in advance.

If you need information on how the work is done and the price, see the sofa cleaning service. This case describes the result for one customer, not a general guarantee for mold removal.
