Leather sofa cleaning

·

We clean leather furniture by hand, using a dry cleaning method, not with an upholstery extractor. Dirt and dust come off the surface easily, but once a stain has set, it is harder to remove from leather than from fabric.

How do you clean a leather sofa?

We clean leather by hand, using a dry cleaning method, without an upholstery extractor. It is more time-consuming than ordinary fabric cleaning.

Why does leather sofa cleaning cost more?

Leather is cleaned by hand, not with a machine, and it takes longer than cleaning with an upholstery extractor. We always give the exact price based on the sofa.

Is dirt easier to remove from leather than from fabric?

Everyday dirt and dust, yes: it can be simply wiped off the surface or vacuumed. Once a stain has set, it is much harder to remove completely from leather than from fabric, see fabric vs leather.

What should a leather sofa owner avoid doing themselves?

Do not keep a leather sofa in direct sunlight or near a heat source (radiator, heater), as it dries out and fades the leather over time. Do not use household cleaning products on leather.

How do you remove pet hair and dust from leather?

Hair can be removed from leather simply by wiping or vacuuming, as it does not cling to leather the way it does to fabric. See also pet hair and odor.

For how the service works in general, see the sofa cleaning page; the method and price for leather furniture are agreed separately. The fabric price table does not automatically mean the same price for leather.
