Approximately how much does an upholstery extractor rental cost?
In the public price lists checked, the 24-hour rental fee is approximately €17-20. This is the range of the examples, not the price range of the whole market. Before booking, check the rental period, the amount of cleaning agent and the final price.

Detergent cost: do you have to buy a whole bottle?
The cleaning agent may be included in the rental fee or be a separate purchase. If a sufficient amount is included in the price, your additional detergent cost is €0. If it is not, ask for the price of the amount you need and the dosing. The purchase price of a whole bottle does not automatically equal the cost of one cleaning. More product does not mean a better result; follow the instructions for the machine and the product.
Transport, return and your own working time
Count picking up the machine, taking it home and returning it, or ask for the delivery price. Check when the 24-hour count starts and how the machine must be cleaned before it is returned. A deposit, if one is asked for, is not a normal rental cost, but it temporarily ties up money.
For the first cleaning, leave time to read the instructions, vacuum, test the material, wash and clean the machine. In the planning example for the comparison, count about 2-3 hours of your own work for one sofa, plus trips; the actual time depends on experience and the size of the item. Based on the example, renting is cheaper in money terms. The choice changes if you add your own time, trips, several rental days or the risk of damaging the material. How does an upholstery extractor work?
The machine sprays a solution of water and cleaning agent onto the textile and sucks it back out together with loose dirt. This differs from a steam cleaner: read the comparison of an upholstery extractor and a steam cleaner. Sofa extractor rental, furniture extractor rental and rug extractor rental may mean the same type of extraction machine; check that the nozzle suitable for your surface is included.
- Read the machine's instructions and the textile care label before using water.
- Remove loose dirt and hair with a vacuum cleaner.
- Test compatibility on a small hidden area.
- Use a solution dosed according to the instructions and avoid soaking the textile through.
- Extract the moisture carefully and leave room for air to move.
- Clean the tanks and nozzles according to the rental provider's instructions before returning.
Fabric risks and drying time
Wet cleaning does not automatically suit every fabric. For velvet, wool, cotton and linen you need to follow the care instructions and assess color and moisture tolerance. Leather is not cleaned with an upholstery extractor. Too much water can stay in the upholstery and cause odor or damage as it dries.
With a rented machine, no specific drying time can be promised. With our service, upholstered furniture and mattresses usually dry in 8-12 hours and rugs in 24-48 hours. Ventilation and material affect the time. Do not use damp upholstery and do not cover a wet mattress with bedding.
When does borrowing an upholstery extractor make sense?
Renting suits you if you know the material tolerates the method, the surface has ordinary dirt and you can spend time learning and organizing drying. Cleaning several suitable items within one rental period can increase the financial advantage of renting. Do not plan more work than you can do carefully.
When should you choose a professional?
A cleaner's assessment is useful for an unknown or delicate fabric, earlier wrong treatment and a deep urine stain or odor. A professional also makes sense if you do not have time to transport or operate a machine. Even professional cleaning does not guarantee that old stains will disappear completely.
Is it worth buying an upholstery extractor?
Compare buying with your actual frequency of use, the price of the machine, maintenance and storage space. Break-even point = the purchase price of the machine divided by the cost avoided by one rental. Add supplies and maintenance. With rare use, the purchase expense may not pay off; with frequent use it can make sense. A specific purchase price or payback cannot be promised without the model and a usage plan.
